The Classification Lists are now viewable on the website you can access them from the menu on the left. The tab 'Classification List' covers Pinks. Borders and Pf's are sub menus I have also placed links at the bottom of this piece. Please remember the lists aren't finished yet, Peter is adding to them as you read this. We have put these up to give members an opportunity to see what is there and the chance to submit cultivars they feel should be included. If you do have cultivars you think should be included please inform Peter Booker asap
Scented Perpetual Flowering Carnations
This subject always causing a lot of comment, how do you define scent? Our aim is for carnations to be “Highly Scented” however everyone has their own idea of what is highly scented. To enable me to complete this class in our Classification Lists I would like members to let me know what varieties they consider to be “Highly Scented”.
The following varieties have already been put forward for inclusion on the lists:-
Jess Hewins Winter Romance Winter Wonderland
Fragrant Ann Betty’s Delight Doris Allwood
Max Hellewell Audrey Robinson Crompton Classic
Please add any cultivars you think may be worthy of inclusion and let me know as soon as possible in order that I can make the list available for the forthcoming seasons. Upon receipt of the recommendations I will canvas the Perpetual Flowering Carnations judges to get a consensus for those that will be included on list and website.
